A waitress at a Branford, Conn., restaurant is thanking a generous stranger for his incredible act of kindness.

“I was in shock. I’m still in shock,” Keri Marie Carlson, a waitress at GW Carson’s, told WTNH.

Carlson needs hearing aids to hear clearly. She was having trouble hearing one of her customers and explained that one of her hearing aids was broken.

Later, the man approached her with $500 to help her out.

“I didn’t say I needed the money or anything,” Carlson said. “He just came in the back and said, ‘I’m not going to take no for an answer, and I can’t let you go home like this,’ and I tried to give him the money back, but he was like — no — you deserve this.”

Carlson couldn’t believe his kindness.

“I cried for a minute in his arms,” said Keri.
