A custodian who sings while he works is going viral for the joy he brings to students at his elementary school.

Wilbert Knight has worked at Pugliese West Elementary School in Steubenville, Ohio. His songs often carry through the halls while he works, WTOV reports.

“I just wanted to do that because I just wanted to reach out to the people,” Knight said.

Knight went viral after a teacher posted a video of him singing. The video was shared more than 200 times.

“He’s an inspiration to all of us. Not only to the kids, but to our staff,” Principal Lynnett Gorman told ABC News. “In a world where kids are sometimes lacking a positive male role model, Mr. Knight has really shown to be that for them. The kids love him. They give him hugs, he greets them with songs, and they greet him with smiles. We’re pretty lucky to have him.”

Knight said he just wants to bring students at his school a little bit of joy.

“A lot of these kids need a hug, because they don’t get it at home, and I’m there for them,” Knight told WTOV.
