A group of sick kids is still beaming after getting a heartwarming surprise from University of Iowa football fans.

The University of Iowa Children’s Hospital is just across the street from Kinnick Stadium, where the Hawkeyes football team played their first game Saturday. The topmost floor of the hospital is nicknamed the “press box,” since its floor-to-ceiling windows provide the perfect vantage point to watch the games below.

Some of the hospital’s youngest patients gathered in the press box to watch the game with their families. To their delight, at one point the entire stadium turned their attention to the hospital building and simultaneously started waving.

On Twitter, the University of Iowa called it the “best new tradition in all of sports.”
