WAREHAM, Mass. – A woman who won $200 on a scratch-off ticket chose to use the winning money not on herself, but on a homeless man who really needed the cash.

Sofia Lorena wrote in a Facebook post that as soon as she won the money, she saw Glenn standing outside in freezing weather, holding a sign asking for money.

Lorena took Glenn to a nearby Dunkin Donuts and bought him coffee. She asked where he was going to sleep that night, and he replied that he didn’t know.

After calling several shelters that were all booked up, she decided to get Glenn a room at a motel for two nights.

In her Facebook post, Lorena included Glenn’s room number, asking her friends to donate food and warm clothes.

That post was shared hundreds of times and her inbox was flooded with people wanting to help Glenn.

She started a GoFundMe page has so far raised over $17,000. If you would like to donate, please click here.
