A little boy determined to stop the Grinch from stealing Christmas is getting a lot of attention for taking matters into his own hands.

TyLon Pittman, 5, learned about the Grinch while watching videos on YouTube last Saturday, according to TODAY. He became so distraught that he called 911 to ask police in Byram, Mississippi for help.

“I just want to tell you something,” TyLon told the 911 dispatcher. “Watch out for the Grinch, because the Grinch is going to steal Christmas, okay?”

Luckily, the dispatcher had a good sense of humor about it.

“It’s definitely been the most interesting thing that’s happened as far as 911 hangups for me,” the dispatcher is heard telling TyLon’s dad in the 911 call recording.

Police officer Lauren Develle went to the house when she heard the story. Video shared to Facebook by TyLon’s older brother shows Officer Lauren Develle chatting with TyLon about what he plans to do if the Grinch shows up at his home, according to the Clarion Ledger.

“So what are you going to do if he tries to steal your Christmas?” Develle asked TyLon.

“I want y’all to come back to my house and take him to jail,” TyLon said.

Later, the police department invited TyLon to their offices to lock up the Grinch himself.

“Christmas is Safe!!! Someone was camera shy but I’m sure his childhood has been made!” TyLon’s older brother, TeDera wrote on Facebook. “Huge thank you to Byram, MS – Police Department, Chief Thompson, Officer Develle and all the reporters that aided in making this a great night.”
