A family is reuniting with the care team who worked tirelessly to separate conjoined twins Knatalye Hope and Adeline Faith Mata.
Knatalye and Adeline were born conjoined at the chest and abdomen at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. In 2015, doctors spent about 18 hours separating the girls, KHOU reports.
They spent an additional 23 hours operating on Knatalye and 26 hours operating on Adeline.
According to an update by Texas Children’s Hospital, the girls returned to a checkup, and are staff couldn’t believe how much progress they had made. Knatalye and Adeline were walking, talking, eating and playing.
