A boy’s idea is bringing smiles and meals to homeless people in his community.

Liam Hannon, 10, of Cambridge, Massachusetts handed out 300 homemade lunches to people living on the street, ABC News reports. He told his dad he wanted to do something to benefit his community over the summer.

“I was coming up with all these ideas, thinking huge picture, and he just goes, ‘Dad, why don’t we make lunch for the people outside our apartment building? They’re homeless and hungry,’” dad Scott Hannon told Wicked Local in Boston.

Inside each lunch bag, Liam packed a sandwich, fresh fruit and a bag of chips. They also put encouraging notes inside each bag. He started a GoFundMe page, which helped grow his project from 20 bagged lunches each week to 60. His dad and little sister, Charlie, would come along as he handed them to homeless people in Cambridge.

Now that school is back in session, Liam says he hopes to spend his Saturdays handing out lunches.
