FITZGERALD, Ga. – A man who recently won a half-million dollar Georgia Lottery jackpot was murdered during a home invasion.

WALB reports 20-year-old Craigory Burch, Jr died from gunshot wounds at his home Tuesday.

Burch won a $434,272 Fantasy 5 jackpot in November after matching all five numbers.

Officials say his girlfriend ran for help after the attack, but he died from his wounds.

Burch was a forklift operator and spent a portion of his winnings to buy Christmas gifts for people in need.
