SUNRISE, Fla. – A family says they are overwhelmed and grateful for all the support they’re getting from their Sunrise, Florida community as their triplets battle brain tumors.

Ellie, Gigi and Carmina are 8 years old and recently moved from their home state of Ohio to Florida to receive treatment for their tumors, which cause dizziness, nausea, short-term memory loss and vision problems, WFOR reports.

Their daughter Ellie was first diagnosed with brain tumors three years ago. She has since undergone seven surgeries. Later, the family learned their other two daughters suffered from tumors as well.

After doing research, the family decided to move to Sunrise, Florida to be closer to better treatment options.

Since their new neighbors learned about the family’s struggle, the community has raised over $5,000 to help the girls.

The family is in awe of the kindness.

“We can go from knowing zero people here, we knew no one in south Florida, to now we have this huge community with numbers and names we can call,” mom Kimberly Conseno said.

Dad Joe Conseno said he tries to keep his daughter’s in a positive mindset.

“Most of the time they’re in pretty good spirits. They’re pretty relentless,” he said. “We try to focus on doing everything to make sure that they’re happy and to live every part of their life as full as they can.”
