A veteran is going above and beyond to help homeless veterans in his community get back on their feet.

Ronald Marble of Littleton, Colo. served seven years with the Army National Guard, including two tours of duty, KDVR reports.

When he returned home, he joined the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and got to work raising money to help the homeless veterans in his area.

“He’s the only homeless veteran outreach coordinator in the state of Colorado,” his wife, Kathryn Marble, said.

Marbles is currently working to get proper boots for veterans.

“So this year there wasn’t money in the budget for extra boots. Typically boots are purchased through the Department of Defense and they use surplus,” said Katrhyn Marbles.

But surplus boots are usually only in sizes 7 and 13.
