A man is ready to get a life-changing surgery to remove a painful tumor from his face thanks to an outpouring of support from his community.

Lucas McCulley of Nampa, Idaho has been living with a rare and painful face tumor for years. The 22 year old told KTVB he’s had 24 surgeries since he was 10 years old.

After one surgery went wrong, resulting in an extended hospital stay for McCulley, doctors told him he must wait until he’s and adult and the tumor stops growing before they could operate.

Now, the enormous cost of the surgery is stopping him from getting it, and he doesn’t have insurance.

“I’m in pain from the moment I wake up and right until I go to sleep,” McCulley told KTVB. “That’s the problem, you can’t prove pain, anybody can say they are in a bunch of pain but can’t prove it. They said that my vision is fine, I’m good enough to go work in the back of a place.”

McCulley set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for the operation. Since his story aired, donations have poured in. So far, he has raised more than $99,000.

He’s grateful to everyone who helped out and now plans to meet with his doctor to discuss options. He plans to keep everyone updated.
