The season of giving has officially begun, and one woman is taking that to a whole new level.

Erica Donovan of Plainville, Conn., won a $3,000 shopping spree at her job as a Thirty-One gifts consultant, WVIT reports. Instead of using the money to treat herself and her kids, she decided to use the cast to help others, opting instead to use all the money to buy gifts for Toys for Tots.

“I am just doing my part. I really, truly am, but I am happy that the spirit of giving is so contagious,” Erica said.

The Marine Corps was called to help distribute the toys to kids in the Hartford, Conn., area.
“Actually, this is kicking off our season, so it’s pretty awesome,” said Staff Sgt. Ashley Dee.
Many people who saw Erica carrying out her mission decided to give donations themselves, proving the spirit of giving really is contagious.
Stories of generous giving always have a knack for going viral this time of year. Two years ago, a woman was walking down the street ahead of Thanksgiving and spotted a toy store that was going out of business. She decided to buy every toy in the store and donate them to kids in need.
Carol Suchman told NY1 at the time that she donates toys every year to kids in need. As she passed by a toy and stationary store getting ready to go out of business, she decided to take her generosity one step further.
