A mother got the shock of her life when her Marine son showed up unexpectedly in her kitchen, fresh from a deployment in Japan.

Mom Rekita Lee hadn’t seen her son, Tre’Vaughn Lee, since August 2016. ABC News reports she had no idea he was going to make it back home to Jacksonville, Florida for the holidays.

Tre’Vaughn really threw his mom off the trail by telling her he was being sent on a training mission in a different location.

When he showed up at home on November 9, she let out an earsplitting scream and leaped into his arms.

“I literally thought I was going to have a heart attack. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t believe he’s here,” said Rekita.

Tre’Vaughn said he wasn’t expecting such an enthusiastic reaction from his mom.

“I expected crying, but I didn’t expect the big scream,” said Tre’Vaughn.
