Hearts are heavy this week following the shooting deaths of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling, as well as the sniper attack in Dallas that left five police officers dead and six injured. While this kind of violence can never truly be grasped, it’s small moments of joy, like that shown in the above video, that can serve as a brief, though temporary, relief from the madness.
Late last week, videographer and dance teacher Yves Soglo was on Rideau Street in Ottawa, Canada shooting a music video for local artist’s Konah Raynes cover of the Justin Timberlake hit “Can’t Stop the Feeling.” Soglo approached police officer Tracey Turpin and asked her if she would mind dancing for the video. She happily obliged.
“It was completely unexpected that she would dance with me,” Soglo said. “It happened in the most spontaneous way.”
A group of passersby later joined in on the dancing, making for quite the memorable moment.
