A group of men in Montreal, Canada are learning how to cook for the first time, so they can care for their wives whose health has been slowly deteriorating.

Don Badke and his wife used to split the work in the kitchen, but since dementia has started setting in for his wife, Badke is learning how to do it all on his own.

“She eats almost everything I cook, and seems to enjoy it,” Badke told CBC.

He and a few other men meet once a week at a local grocery store where they learn how to shop for healthy ingredients and cook meals.

The men are part of Alzheimer Groupe, a Montreal not-for-profit that helps people affected by Alzheimer’s, including those who lost a loved one.
