A dad is thanking his son’s preschool teacher for helping to save his life.

Darreld Petersen of Mason City, Iowa has renal kidney failure and is in desperate need of a transplant.

His son’s preschool teacher, Nancy Bleurer, learned about his need and got tested. As luck would have it, she is a perfect match.

“I remembered on my bucket list that I’ve wanted to do this,” Bleurer told WHOTV. “You don’t think about it everyday, but I just kind of remembered, ‘Oh yeah, that’s on the list.”

The transplant surgery will take place early next month.
