A story shared by a woman battling cancer is touching hearts around the country.
A story submitted to the Love What Matters Facebook page shows the note a kind stranger left on a restaurant bill for a woman battling cancer. The stranger even paid for her meal.
“I lost my wife to cancer 5 years ago,” the note read. “I know how tough it can be going through this. Your meal is on me. Merry Christmas.”
The woman was touched by the man’s kindness. She said she’s thankful her story will have a happy ending.
“More than anything, having cancer has shown me that there are a lot of good people in this world and that I am grateful my own family won’t be leaving notes like this for others,” the photo’s caption read. “It has been hard, I have fought, I have been sick, tears have been shed, I have missed out on things, I have lost my hair, and I will lose my breast, but I will live. I WILL LIVE.My parents will still have their daughter, my husband will still have his wife, my children will still have their mother.”
The woman was grateful for the stranger’s generosity.
“Whoever you are – thank you,” she wrote.
After posting the story to Facebook, strangers around the country started sharing similar stories of kindness as they fought illness.
