HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A Florida fire station got a welcoming gift last week when an anonymous donor paid for their groceries when some firefighters left them behind to attend to an issue.

A group of firefighters from Engine 13-A in Hillsborough County were at a Citrus Park-area Publix on Nov. 4 when they had to leave the checkout line when a call came in, WTVT reports. When the firefighters returned to pay the bill, they learned that someone else had done it for them.

“We are honored to serve the citizens of Hillsborough County every day, but we are thankful for these unexpected moments from the citizens we serve,” Hillsborough County Fire Rescue posted on Facebook on Monday.

The person did not leave their name on the bill and wrote, “Thank you for your service,” on the back.
