SOMERSET COUNTY, Penn. – A young girl is inspiring people across the country after she shaved her head in support of her 3-year-old cousin, who’s battling cancer.

Morgan Weyland, 8, of Somerset County, Pennsylvania walked into the SmartStyle Hair Salon a few weeks ago and asked her stylist to shave her head.

“That little girl has a heart of gold. There’s not many kids that would do that,” Amanda Thompson, Morgan’s hairstylist, told WJAC.

Her little cousin, Cooper Evens, was recently diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma.

Cooper isn’t Morgan’s first family member to be affected by cancer; her aunt Denny and Cousin Shawna both have breast cancer.

Morgan’s hair will be donated to Wigs for Kids.

Cooper’s mother said Morgan’s support means the world to Cooper and her family.

“It was pretty powerful and meant a lot to us because with Cooper just being three and having a rare kind of cancer, it’s nice to see all the support that we have been getting from Morgan and the family,” said mom Kayla Nicklow.
