WASHINGTON, D.C. – A pair of 90-something-year-olds are getting a lot of attention on social media for their sweet blind date.

Miriam Steiner, 93, and Harold Sharlin, 90, met for a date last week at Politics & Prose Bookstore in Washington, D.C.

According to, Harold’s granddaughter set up the meeting. His granddaughter, a waitress, served Miriam at a restaurant last week.

“My Jenny was so impressed with Miriam’s pep and vigor that she said, ‘You’d make a great date for my grandfather!'” Sharlin said.

Mariam lost her husband in 1999 and hasn’t dated since, saying, “I loved him, and I didn’t look for anyone else after that.”

Harold also lost his wife back in 1998.

The two met each other at the bookshop for their date last week, and a smitten store worker couldn’t help but snap a photo of the couple with their walkers.

“We’re not crying. We just have something in our eye,” the bookstore wrote on Facebook alongside the photo.

One thing’s for sure: this couple gives us hope that it’s never too late to find love!
