A woman’s post about an encounter with an elderly stranger on a shopping trip is going viral.

Alyssa Hacker of Coweta, Oklahoma wrote in a now-viral Facebook post that she was visiting a Target store with her son, Owen. Owen was sitting in a shopping cart, playing with three dinosaur toys.

“Owen grabbed all 3 and we were trying to pick out which one he wanted when Owen abruptly yelled ‘HI’ at this older man walking past us,” wrote Hacker.

The man returned Owen’s greeting and started talking to the boy, which at first made Hacker uncomfortable.

“He proceeded to play dinosaurs with Owen and with this crazy world we live in I was a little hesitant as to how close he was with Owen,” wrote Hacker.

What the man did next left Hacker heartbroken.

“The man got his wallet out and pulled a $20 out, he put it in Owens [sic] pocket on his shirt and said ‘I just lost my 2 year old grandson last week. You take this money and buy this boy all three dinosaurs’ and rubbed Owens [sic] back, wiped his tears and walked off,” wrote Hacker.

The post went viral, getting more than 133,000 shares.

“After Owen yelled ‘thank you’ the gentleman turned around and yelled, ‘Boomer sooner!’ There is still some good in this world,” wrote Hacker.
