DALLAS, Tx. – Two 11-year-old girls managed to raise $10,000 for their police department, just by selling lemonade.

Lauren Roach and Landry Nelson, both 11 years old, were were heartbroken after after a shooting in Dallas left five of their officers dead.

So they decided to sell lemonade, and donate all the proceeds to their officers. According to WFAA, by the end of their first weekend, they had raised thousands of dollars.

Their church agreed to match that donation, bringing their total to nearly $10,000.

They were thrilled to present the check to the Dallas Police Association.

“At the very beginning, we were like, ‘You know, we’d be really lucky if we could get $100 to take to the police.’ And now it’s almost $10,000!” Landry told WFAA.

The police association said all the donations are going to the families of the shooting victims.

“It feels good to know we are making a difference in people’s lives,” Lauren said. “That makes us feel great inside.”
