CHARLES COUNTY, Md. – A mother is thanking her 8-year-old daughter for saving her life after she suffered a stroke.
“It was just me and her in here. And all of a sudden I was like, ‘A’nasia, I can’t feel nothing on my self side,” mom Janée Clayton told WJLA.
Her daughter, A’nasia, didn’t miss a beat. She had recently looked up what the word ‘stroke’ meant and was pretty certain that’s what she was witnessing.
She called 911 from their Maryland home and closely followed the dispatcher’s instructions, getting help to her mom quickly.
Now, Charles County is giving her an award for her quick thinking.
“I was very, very excited,” said A’nasia, when she found out she will be getting the award.
Her mom says she couldn’t be more thankful and proud of her daughter.
“I am super happy,” said Clayton.
