A Marine in North Carolina got a shock when he arrived home and was greeted by his son, who suffers from cerebral palsy, walking on his own for the first time.

Staff Sgt. Jeremy Cooney didn’t know that his son learned to walk while he was serving in Afghanistan, ABC News reports.

The video is from 2012, but it will never get old. It shows his 6-year-old son walking across a gymnasium to give his dad a well-deserved welcome.
