CHICAGO – A Chicago Uber driver says when he found a forgotten wallet in the back seat of his car, his conscience got the best of him and he just had to return it.

Uber driver Jose Figueroa went to Chicago O’Hare Airport to pick up a man. Turns out the man was an immigrant from the Ukraine who had just arrived in the United States.

After dropping the man off in a Chicago neighborhood, Figueroa found the man’s wallet, forgotten in the backseat. Tucked inside was $3,000.

“I mean there was temptation. I’ll be honest with you. But me being a Christian, I couldn’t. I wanted to make sure I sleep good, so that’s what I did. I returned the money and the wallet,” said Figueroa.

He went back to the home where he dropped the passenger off and returned the wallet. The man and his sister both started to cry with gratitude.

The insisted Figueroa stayed for dinner, and gave him $100 to thank him for his honesty and kindness.
