Two parents are feeling quite pleased with themselves after drawing up a “contract” for their son, presented by the “Tooth Fairy.”

When 10-year-old Elliott lost a tooth, he was looking forward to pocketing some easy cash, but the Tooth Fairy proved that all money has to be earned.

Dad Ray Skwire posted a text conversation that transpired between him and his wife to Imgur. The two were discussing how much money to leave for Elliot’s lost molar tooth, and that’s when they hatched the plan to leave behind a “legal contract” obligating Elliot to do his chores, or otherwise face consequences.

“By leaving your tooth out for one of our Tooth Adjusters, you, the toothee, have entered into a contractual obligation to perform measured work, herein known as Chores,” the letter, printed on formal stationary, reads.  “The most comfortable solution for all three parties involved (Tooth Adjusters, Toothee, and Parental Units) is for you, the toothee, to do your chores as expected, on time, every day. Do not make us come and take your teeth.”

While Skwire and his wife were tickled with their work, their son did not find so much humor in the situation.

“He was not too happy,” Skwire told ABC News. But, the soon-to-be fifth grader got over it pretty quickly.

“We all have a good sense of humor,” said Skwire.
