BATON ROUGE, La. – A photo posted to Facebook is giving people hope.
Kim Muyaka told the Independent Journal Review that earlier this month she had felt the overwhelming urge to “reach out to someone else to pray with, someone outside my race.”
Muyaka said she was at a car wash filling her car tires with air when she spotted a deputy and asked if she could pray with him.
“As he grabbed my hands, I could feel the fear inside him, and his hands were shaking. After I finished praying, he was relived,” said Muyaka.
The photo has been shared more than 24,000 times.
Just one week after posting the photo, three Baton Rouge law enforcement officials were ambushed and killed.
After the shooting, Muyaka posted a video to Facebook reacting to the shooting, saying she was “heartbroken.”
