LUBBOCK, Tx. – A teacher is thanking his students for a gift he’s been dreaming of since he was 12 years old.

A video posted to Twitter shows the touching moment unfold inside a classroom at Coronado High School in Texas.

Student Hector Montez approached teacher Thomas Walser with a shoe box.

“This is for you, for always keeping it real with me,” Hector told Coach Wasler in the video. “You told me sophomore year this is your favorite shoe, and that this is your size.”

Wasler couldn’t believe his eyes when he opened the box to find a pair of Air Jordans in his size.

“I’ve wanted these since I was in sixth grade,” he said as he gave Hector a hug. “And I never got them.”

Later, Walser took to Twitter to thank his students.

“I love my AVID kids so much!” Wasler wrote on Twitter.

In a message to Hector directly, Wasler said, “You’re an amazing guy and I am so proud of the young man you’ve become! I can’t wait to see what else life hold for you bro.”

Hector said, “It’s good to give back to the man who’s always been by my side.”
