LOS ANGELES – When a stranger saw two police officer having lunch at a Los Angeles restaurant, he didn’t hesitate to show his thanks.

The stranger paid the bill for the officers anonymously, leaving a note for them expressing his gratitude.

The note read:

“Gentlemen, it is my pleasure to buy you lunch. I want you to know there are quite a few people who support you. In fact I would suggest the majority of our citizens. Keep up the good work you do. I thought it best to not stay around. If you don’t know know who bought your lunch, then no one can say it was to curry favor. Keep safe. PS – I’m truly sorry of the loss of all law enforcement.”

The police officers took a photo of the touching note and posted it to Twitter as a public “thank you.”
