A Starbucks customer is suing the coffee giant, accusing the company of putting too much ice in its cold drinks.
The class-action lawsuit filed by Stacy Pincus claims there is not enough fluid in cold drinks, because of the ice.
According to the suit, claims could exceed $5 million.
“Starbucks is advertising the size of its Cold Drink cups on its menu, rather than the amount of fluid a customer will receive when they purchase a Cold Drink — and deceiving its customers in the process,” the suit says.
The suit says a Venti cold drink is supposed to have 24 ounces of fluid, but when ice is added, the real amount of actual liquid is 14 ounces. The rest is ice.
According to CNN Money, Starbucks spokesperson Jamie Riley acknowledged the lawsuit saying, “Our customers understand and expect that ice is an essential component of any ‘iced’ beverage. If a customer is not satisfied with their beverage preparation, we will gladly remake it.”
