A mother was touched when she received a surprising letter from her son’s school after he failed the SATs.
Gail Twist lives in Merseyside, England. Her 11-year-old son, Ben, was diagnosed with autism when he was 5-years-old.
He recently took the SATs and received a failing score, according to The Mighty.
“These tests only measure a little bit of you and your abilities,” the letter from his teacher, Mrs. Clarkson, read. “They are important and you have do so well but Ben Twist is made up of many other skills and talents that we at Lansbury Bridge see and measure in other ways.”
Some of the talents mentioned in the letter include ‘artistic talents,’ ‘your ability to work in a team,’ and ‘your kindness.’
His mother tweeted out a photo of the letter with the caption, “In tears.” The letter has since been retweeted thousands of times.
People on social media are responding by saying they’re in awe at the care and attention Ben has gotten from the school.
