CINCINNATI, Ohio – A mother goose sought out the help of a police officer when one of her goslings got tangled in some string.
Sergeant James Givens told WJAR that the goose approached his cruiser, and refused to leave him alone.
“It kept pecking and pecking and normally they don’t come near us,” said Givens. “Then it walked away and then it stopped and looked back so I followed it and it led me right over to the baby that was tangled up in all that string.”
The string was attached to a Mother’s Day balloon. Givens called the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, but no one was available to help.
So Specialist Cecilia Charron took matters into her own hands. Charron, who is a mother herself, picked up the gosling and untangled her from the string.
Givens recorded video of the unexpected rescue mission. Watch the heartwarming video above.
