GREENBACK, Tenn. – A car crash sent a man to the hospital, but that didn’t stop him from taking a knee and proposing his his girlfriend.

Jamacio Kimble was planning on popping the question to his girlfriend, Kayla King, on the eve of their first anniversary.

“The original plan was that night at church we were going to have our youth and college career class get together and have roses and music and the lights off,” Kimble told WBIR.

But on his way to buy flowers for the proposal, Kimble’s car slipped off of wet roads, and send him careening into a ditch.

Kimble suffered some scrapes and bruises, but he decided that he wasn’t going to waste another moment, and popped the question in the emergency room.

“If you look at the car, the pole was in my front seat and passenger seat, and I could have died on my way to ask the girl of my dreams to marry me,” Kimble said.  “I was like ‘I could have died not asking that, so while I have breath, I’m going to ask that.'”

She said yes, and the couple plans to finish college before tying the knot.
