WILLOUGHBY, Ohio – A new dad couldn’t believe what a pair of elderly strangers did for him after he took his son out for breakfast.
Kevon Smith, Sr. was eating breakfast at a Cracker Barrel restaurant when he noticed an elderly couple watching him while he ate.
“I was looking at my son like, ‘What’s going on?'” Smith told WOIO.
After finishing his meal, Smith and his son returned to the car, where he found a note and some cash tucked under his windshield wiper.
“We need more black dads like you. Today, your meal is on my wife and me. Enjoy that baby boy as long as God intends,” the note read. “Keep doing what you’re doing.”
Smith said he was especially touched by the note, because he didn’t have a father figure growing up.
“There’s a lot of guys I know that aren’t taking care of their kids,” said Smith. “To show that not all of us are out here being gang bangers, some of us are out here being fathers.
