SEATTLE, Wash. – Newly released video of a shooting at a University in Seattle, Washington shows a fearless student tackle a gunman and wrestle his weapon away from him.

In 2014, officials say Seattle Pacific University student Aaron Ybarra killed one person a wounded two others when he opened fire on campus.

New video released Tuesday shows the heroic moment a student took the gunman down, KIRO reports.

Jon Meis was working security in Otto Miller Hall when the shooter walked inside and shot a female student.

Video shows Meis pepper spray the gunman in the face. He then grabs the gun, secures it in his office, and returns with a knife, holding the gunman down as students run away.

“I had to give that security guy props,” Ybarra told police after his arrest. “He was pretty brave.”
