CHESAPEAKE, Va. – A first grader born without hands is defying all odds, winning an award for her perfect handwriting.
Little Anaya Ellick is a first grade student at Greenbrier Christian Academy in Chesapeake, Virginia.
She doesn’t quite understand what all the fuss is about.
“She does not let anything get in the way of doing what she has set out to do,” Principal Tracy Cox told WTKR.
“She ties her shoes, she gets dressed by herself, she doesn’t really need any assistance to do anything,” said mom Bianca Ellick.
Anaya got a huge trophy from the National Handwriting Contest, acknowledging her accomplishment.
