A three-year-old Virginia boy is back with his family thanks to his dog after a spending nine hours lost and barefoot in the woods.
Little Mason Ryan somehow got out of his home and tried to follow his dad’s truck as he was leaving home, his family told WSLS.
His mother frantically searched for the boy after she realized he got outside, but couldn’t find him.
Several hundred people combed through the area, but Banjo was way ahead of all of them, staying by Mason’s side through the night.
Banjo didn’t let Mason out of his sight, and helped alert people searching for him when they came close.
He was found two miles away from home at 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Mason has a few scratches and was taken to a nearby hospital. Thankfully, he is expected to be just fine.
