DALLAS – Hours before snipers opened fire on members of the Dallas Police Department and Dallas Area Rapid Transit, the official Twitter feed for DPD was keeping locals updated on the peaceful protest. Police even sent out some messages that seemed to be in solidarity with protesters.

Dallas Police Chief David Brown confirmed that at least two snipers shot at and hit 11 officers. Five of them died of their injuries.
