MONROE, Ga. – Batman recently took some time out to surprise a young boy recovering after “an unfortunate incident involving a firearm,” according to the Monroe Police Department.

Lt. Darryl Powell surprised the Jamon Davis by dressing up as Batman and presenting him with some gifts and some powerful advice.

“You shouldn’t have to ever have something like that happen to you,” Powell told Jamon. “But sometimes, bad things happen. But you have to be strong and courageous for your mom. Don’t let this get you down.”

Powell told Jamon he would come back to see him when his foot heals. In the meantime, he told Jamon how to get in touch if he ever needs help.

“Call the Chief and the Chief can put the bat signal in the air and call me out,” said Powell.
