Little Teddy Houlston was alive for barely two hours, but his impact is inspiring so many.
The Daily Mirror reports that 12 weeks into her pregnancy, Jess Evans found out that one of the twins she was carrying was sick. Doctors in Great Britain said at best, Teddy would live only a couple of days.
A year ago, Teddy passed away in the same delivery room where he was born. His parents, Jess and Mike, were deeply saddened by the loss, but knew their son could leave an impact. They decided to donate Teddy’s kidneys and heart valves, so he could save an adult stranger’s life. He is now the youngest organ donor in Great Britain, according to the Daily Mirror.
For Jess and Mike, knowing that their son died a hero helps them cope with the loss.
“He lived and died a hero. It’s impossible to explain how proud we are of him,” Mike told the Daily Mirror.
Jess said, “We hope Teddy’s story will inspire families who find themselves in the position of losing a child.”
