BURTRUM, Minn. – An 89-year-old grandmother has sent 300 kids to camp by swimming across a lake year after year.

For the past five years, Sandy has swum across Cedar Lake in Burtrum, Minnesota for the past five years, KARE reports. So far she has raised more than $28,000, or 300 scholarships, to send kids to Camp Lebanon.

Her kids and grandchildren jump in the water alongside her, and campers cheer her on from the stands as she completes the half-mile swim.

“She’s just full of life,” said camper Melissa DeLay. “We love Sandy because she loves us.”
