GASTON COUNTY, NC – A 16-year-old says he came face-to-face with a masked intruder who was stealing items from his home.

Yero Love was sleeping just before 9 a.m. Monday morning when he heard someone shuffling around his family’s North Carolina home.

He came out of his room, expecting to find one of his parents. Instead, he locked eyes with a burglar holding a bag of stolen items.

“All I could see were their eyes,” said Love. “Their eyes were wide open. They looked right at me.”

Love says the man dropped the bag an ran. Love decided not to run after the burglar. Instead, he ran outside and flagged down a neighbor for help.

Police found two bags full of items collected by the burglar. Love and his mom say they are now taking steps now to make sure intruders can’t get into their home so easily.
