KIRKLAND, Wash. – Doctors expect a set of identical twins will be born months apart.

Baby Link is currently in the NICU of a Washington hospital. He was born in September at just 1 pound, 2 ounces. His mother was only 23 weeks pregnant when he was born.

His identical twin brother, Logan, is still in his mother’s womb. If all goes well, Logan will be born in January. The babies had a rare complication called twin-twin transfusion syndrome.

When their mother went into early labor, doctors at the Washington hospital delivered on baby while the other stayed in.

“Logan’s good. So he’s growing a lot and he’s just kicking. He’s got fluid, he can move around,” said his mother Holli Gorveatt.

Link is still too fragile to be held, but he’s getting stronger everyday.
