WICHITA, Kansas –¬†When officers stopped a father with his three kids in the back seat, he worried he’d get a ticket for having no insurance and bad tags. But instead the officers gave him a break and went above and beyond for his family.

“We decided that this was a good family,” said Kyle Miller with the Wichita Police department. “We wanted to do something just to help out somebody.”

Three officers took the Kansas family to Walmart. They bought the kids new clothes, shoes, pajamas and of course toys.

Little Nicholas chose a remote-controlled car and his sisters got dolls. Dad Jessie Owings says the officers left a lasting impact on his kids.
