Hana Ali, one of Muhammad Ali’s eight children, released a powerful message on Twitter in memory of her late dad.
As she and her family sat by Ali to watch him take his last breath, Hana admits that they felt relieved, whispering in his ear, “You can go now. We will be okay.”
Hana’s message on Twitter reads:
“Our hearts are literally hurting. But We are so happy daddy is free now. We all tried to stay strong and whispered in his ear, ‘You can go now. We will be okay. We love [you]. Thank you. You can go back to God now.’ All of us were around him hugging and kissing him and holding hands, chanting the Islamic prayer. All of his organs failed but his heart wouldn’t stop beating. For 30 minutes his heart just keep beating. No one had ever seen anything like it. A true testament to the strength of his Spirit and Will! Thank you for all your love and support!!!”
While all of Muhammad Ali’s organs failed, his heart continued to beat.
“All of his organs failed but his heart wouldn’t stop beating. For 30 minutes his heart just keep beating. No one had ever seen anything like it,” Hana wrote.
Maybe it was for his family, for boxing or for the people of the world he left an imprint on, but the continuation of his heart shows nothing other than love.
