A 7-year-old girl is going viral after pulling a sword out of the same lake King Arthur’s Excalibur blade is said to have been thrown.

According to The Star, Matilda Jones was paddling in Dozmary Pool in Cornwall, England with her dad when she spotted something glimmering at the bottom of the lake.

“She was only waist deep when she said she could see a sword,” said dad Paul Jones. “I told her not to be silly and it was probably a bit of fencing, but when I looked down I realized it was a sword. It was just there laying flat on the bottom of the lake.”

According to the legend of the Excalibur’s sword, Sir Bedivere threw the weapon into Dozmary Pool after the Battle of Camlann. The story says an arm rose from the lake, grabbed the sword and disappeared again. The legend also said the owner of the sword is the rightful ruler of Great Britain.

Paul Jones seriously doubts the sword is the same one from the story from the 5th century, but guesses the sword is a leftover movie prop.

“The sword is 4ft long – exactly Matilda’s height,” Paul Jones told The Star. “I don’t think it’s particularly old about 20 or 30 years old. It’s probably an old film prop.”
