Dirty Dancing is back, but with a twist.

ABC is airing a reboot of the 1987 musical but instead of Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze, the made for TV version stars Abigail Breslin and Colt Prattes.

Hot Topics host Heather Catlin spoke with the pair and they said they were definitely nervous remaking the movie, but it is a little different from the one we know well.

“You get to see more of the character’s lives and you get more of a back story,” Breslin told Hot Topics.

“We had more time, so we got to expand on the characters,” added Prattes.

When it comes to dancing, Breslin admits she is a horrible dancing and relied on Prattes to take the lead.

“It was terrifying and I was extremely lucky I had Colt,” said Breslin.

So how did they pull off that iconic lift? It took a long time, but Prattes said he was beyond proud of his co-star when she finally pulled it off.

He told us, “it was everything.”

Dirty Dancing premiers Wednesday, May 24 at 8pm on ABC.
